The new “charging systems market overview”: new suppliers, greater internationalization, growing markets

The number of electric vehicles around the world rose to 5.6 million last year. The global market grew by 75 percent compared with 2017, and it will continue to accelerate. This is also reflected in the current market overview from the Power2Drive Europe exhibition. The number of suppliers and the range of wall boxes, charging stations, carports and services relating to electric mobility have grown significantly. The current market overview is published in English and presents around 90 charging stations, wall boxes and versatile charging cables that are currently available. Alongside charging technology, the market overview also covers planning tools used to integrate e-mobility into solar self-consumption systems for buildings and solar carports. By the way: many providers will be exhibiting at Power2Drive Europe or the parallel energy trade exhibitions of The smarter E Europe. Visit Messe München from May 15-17, 2019 and talk directly to manufacturers, system integrators and distributors. Save up to 30% on a day ticket or three-day ticket when you order online!

Manifesto: Call for a successful transition to renewables in the transportation sector

Political course corrections, coupled with the alarming reports on climate conservation, have led the organizers behind Power2Drive Europe and other endorsers to initiate a manifesto. The aim is to deepen the close connection between e-mobility and renewable sources of energy and achieve a sustainable future. The smarter E Europe, the largest energy industry platform in Europe, will demonstrate the potential held by this combination of mobility and clean energy, and the pressing need to pay greater attention to sector coupling.

Some of the declaration’s first signatories include the German Federal Association for eMobility (BEM), the German Association of Energy Market Innovators (bne), the German Association for Solar Mobility (BSM), the German Solar Association (BSW-Solar), the German Wind Energy Association (BWE), the International Solar Energy Society, German Section (DGS) and the International Battery & Energy Storage Alliance (IBESA).

The global energy industry is undergoing a radical transformation

Digitalization and decentralization are changing the face of the energy world for good. Renewable energy has become a crucial part of our energy supply system, with global investments in renewables surpassing those made in fossil energy sources for the first time in 2015. If renewable energy is to compete against conventional sources of energy, it is not enough to simply improve how it is generated. Instead, the fields of generation, energy storage, distribution and consumption must be connected seamlessly and intelligently.

In order to give all these aspects the attention they deserve, the organizers of Intersolar and ees are taking the logical step of combining all topics and events concerning the new energy world under a new umbrella called The smarter E.
