Making the transition to electric mobility easier
Electric buses are emission-free on the road and contribute to air pollution control and climate protection. However, the purchase price is still much higher than for diesel-powered buses. Therefore, the Ministry for the Environment will bear 80 percent of the additional costs when a purely electric bus is purchased. For buses with plug-in hybrid drive, the financial support is 40 percent of the additional costs. In addition, each transport company will be reimbursed with 40% of the costs for charging infrastructure and other expenses, including training of personnel or workshop facilities.
The funding is allocated by a selection procedure. Project outlines can be submitted online to the project agency VDI-VDE-IT until April 30th.
