BRUGG eConnect AG, a start-up spun out of "Brugg Cables" three years ago, is a leading provider of fast-charging infrastructure for e-mobility. The company offers cable solutions for various industries, including wind energy and e-mobility, with the aim of making e-mobility accessible to everyone while promoting the energy transition.
BRUGG eConnect AG has achieved a significant milestone in the field of fast-charging technology, with its latest Megawatt Charging System (MCS). The MCS is designed to work with all types of heavy-duty vehicles used in various industries, including battery-electric trucks. The company, in collaboration with Swiss engineering firm Caovtec, has developed a cooled MCS charging system that allows charging currents of up to 3,000 kilowatts (kW) – a world first.
With the current high-power charging systems, a full charge can take between 15 and 30 minutes, depending on the vehicle model and battery capacity. However, the new cooled MCS charging system can reduce the charging time to under 10 minutes, making it comparable to refueling a vehicle with a combustion engine. The company's high-performance PURWIL HPC 500 Cable is an example of a maintenance-free, uncooled charging cable that achieves these fast charging times.
As a result of its groundbreaking developments, BRUGG eConnect AG is shaping the future of e-mobility infrastructure. The company's goal is to make e-mobility more accessible and to accelerate the transition to clean energy.
