As a means of green transportation, electric vehicles are becoming increasingly competitive. The Global EV Outlook published by OECD and IEA in 2017 mentions that in 2016 the global electric car stock reached 2 million vehicles (after surpassing 1 million in 2015). China became for the first time the country with the largest electric car stock - followed by the United States.
