Prof. Dr. Alexander Kressner is a professor of Logistics and Supply Chain Management at DHBW Stuttgart, where he specializes in the electrification of commercial vehicle fleets, AI-based fleet and charging infrastructure optimization, and supply chain digitalization. He holds a bachelor's and master's degree in Operations Research & Supply Chain Management from the University of Hohenheim, where he also completed his doctorate.
Before entering academia, Kressner spent five years at Mercedes-Benz AG - first as a Data Science & Operations Research expert and later as a manager driving digitalization projects in logistics - giving him deep industry insight into the practical challenges of fleet transformation. Since joining DHBW Stuttgart in 2021, he has built a research focus on the real-world transition to zero-emission logistics, combining machine learning with operations research to model optimal e-fleet configurations and charging infrastructure deployment.
Kressner is also the organizer of practitioner-oriented conferences on fleet electrification that attract significant industry interest, bringing together fleet operators, energy providers, and charging infrastructure companies to share strategies and lessons learned from the field. He is a member of the Bundesvereinigung Logistik (BVL).
