EM-Power Europe: EU Energy Transition Initiatives ETIP SNET and BRIDGE Present Themselves

Joint Booth „EU Innovation Hub“ Hall B5, Booth B5.220

The EU initiatives ETIP SNET and BRIDGE will present themselves at a joint booth at EM Power Europe 2023. European Technology and Innovation Platforms (ETIP) were created by the EU Commission as part of the new integrated roadmap for the Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET Plan) by bringing together a wide range of stakeholders and experts from the energy sector.

The mission of the ETIP Smart Networks for Energy Transition (SNET) is to guide research, development and innovation (RD&I) to support the energy transition in Europe. For example, one of the objectives is to develop a vision for RD&I for smart grids involving various stakeholders, address technical challenges of the energy transition, identify regulatory and financial barriers to innovation, and improve knowledge sharing.

The BRIDGE initiative, which started under the EU's Horizon 2020 research & innovation funding program and will continue under Horizon Europe, brings together R&I projects in the areas of smart grids, energy storage, islands and digitalization. The aim is to create a structured view of cross-cutting issues that arise in the demonstration projects and to promote knowledge exchange to increase the impact of projects to accelerate the energy transition.

The following projects, which focus on energy and demand-side management, prosumer engagement, sector coupling, smart grids, and new business models, among others, are presented.

Iflex: Intelligent Assistants for Flexibility Management

The goal is to make it as easy as possible for consumers to participate in demand response programs and adjust their own consumption. To this end, an intelligent, personal software assistant is being developed.
