Second Life, Zero Life and more - What does the future hold for energy storage?

The smarter E Podcast Episode 93 | May 25, 2022 | Language: German

For the energy transition to succeed, we not only need a huge expansion of renewable energies. We also need more storage in the power grid to match the fluctuating generation of wind and solar energy to consumption. How can electricity storage help reduce the use of fossil energy? What control options are available for this? And how can electricity storage also make economic sense? Franz-Josef Feilmeier, CEO of Fenecon, reveals this and more.

Timeline

  • 1.44: About Zero Life for car batteries
  • 10.25: Which storage systems are worthwhile at current electricity costs?

About Franz-Josef Feilmeier and Fenecon:

FENECON is a leading manufacturer of electricity storage solutions and offers systems for private households as well as for commerce, industry, utilities and vehicle manufacturers. The solutions use the in-house energy management system FEMS based on OpenEMS and thus enable grid- and energy-related energy management up to intelligent sector coupling of electricity, mobility and heat.

Franz-Josef Feilmeier is the founder and CEO of Fenecon. After studying technical business administration at the TH Deggendorf, spending half a year in China, where he already experienced e-mobility on a large scale with electric buses in 2005, Franz-Josef moves on to his next professional stations: Diploma thesis on solar technology in Hamburg, construction of solar cell factories based in Konstanz and then building photovoltaic systems with friends back in Lower Bavaria.
